Salted Caramel Apple Crisp

Preheat your oven to 190°C and lightly grease a 20cm square baking dish.

Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1cm thick pieces and toss them in the dish with 50g of brown sugar and the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, mix the oats, flour, the remaining 100g of brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

Cut the cold butter into small cubes and rub it into the oat mixture with your fingers until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Spread the crumble mixture evenly over the prepared apples.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apple juices are bubbling around the edges.

Cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.
