Common questions
Does Paprika track expiry dates?
Yes. Its help pages state that each pantry item can record the quantity, purchase date, expiration date and whether it is in stock, and that the pantry can be sorted by expiration date. If that is the feature you want, Paprika has it, and it works offline in a native app.
What does Riff.kitchen do that Paprika does not?
It writes the recipe. Paprika stores recipes you collected and helps you organise them, so the pantry is an inventory you consult. Riff.kitchen reads the pantry and generates a recipe for what is in it, starting with whatever is closest to going off, then lists only the ingredients you are missing.
Can I move my Paprika recipes into Riff.kitchen?
No. Riff.kitchen has no recipe import, and if keeping a collection matters to you, Paprika is the better home for it. The two are not really substitutes: one is a filing cabinet you fill, the other decides what to cook tonight.
